We also recognize when a customer’s positive attitude, expertise, and curiosity to explore new solutions make a big impact in our community. That’s why we created the exclusive IRISBOND Feedback Community. To celebrate those Hiru lovers and eye gaze challengers!
IRISBOND Feedback Community: Discovering Independence with Hiru through the people who use it. #EYEam
EYE am Yael
The impossible is only impossible if you think it is.
Learn more about me
Hi! I’m Yael. I’m in my sixth and final year of high school, and I also study English. I am an artist—I write stories and scripts for theater and cinema, compose my own songs, sing with a synthesized voice from the computer, act, dance, and model. After finishing high school, I plan to pursue a career in filmmaking. Besides being a writer, actress, and singer, I dream of being a film director for my own movies, and I also dream of acting in them.
I have been using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) since I was 10 years old, using a communication device from IRISBOND. This has greatly promoted my independence. You can follow me on my Instagram
EYE am Samira
Just independence and freedom. [Hiru] has truly transformed how I engage with my studies and everyday activities.
Learn more about me
At 15 years old and hailing from Weinsberg, Germany, I enjoy long walks outdoors and endless conversations. Coincidence? I don’t think so. My name, Samira, not only means “wind or air” but also “conversation companion”. It seems like my parents knew me before my birth.
Passionate about mathematics and languages, I longed for complete independence through technology. While I communicate verbally, I rely on my eyes to lead a more autonomous life. Social media and applications are within my reach, and I am free to choose any app. EYE am free.
I really appreciate how much independence I’ve gained through Hiru! Now I was finally able to take notes during lessons, read books, learn new stuff, and so much more. And all of that with ease. No need to select the click option every time. Just independence and freedom. It has truly transformed how I engage with my studies and everyday activities. Follow me on social media!
EYE am Mariano
What scares me the most is that there will come a time when I will not be able to communicate my experiences and that no one will be able to take advantage of them to better cope with the disease.
Learn more about me
Mariano López, owner of the company Capitán Nemo, classic car enthusiast, and father of a son, faced the harsh reality of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) for four years. His story, captured in the documentary “Capitán Nemo,” is a testimony of courage and hope.
“What scares me the most is that there may come a time when I cannot communicate my experiences, and no one can benefit from them to better face the disease.”
Despite the illness, Mariano refused to give up and inspired others with his zest for life. Communicating through his IRISBOND, he stayed close to his family and maintained a positive atmosphere. Click here to watch the trailer and discover more about his inspiring story.

EYE am Dani
I am a lion and I communicate with my eyes. We are all different, but we are also very equal.
Learn more about me
“I have cerebral palsy due to severe hypoxia during birth (cardiac arrest). I am a lion and I speak with my eyes. We play, learn, enjoy certain things, dislike others… We are all children. We all have needs and desires, and it’s much easier to live together when we integrate them into our daily lives and respect them. It’s not that difficult. Let’s try to find similarities in others; we might be surprised to have much more in common than we thought. Because we are all different, but we are also very much alike.”
You can learn more about me by following me on Instagram @mis_ojos_azules where I share many stories.
EYE am Fran Vivó
Personal testimonies are the best way to give visibility to these things.
Learn more about me
I’m Fran from Valencia, Spain. I used to be a forest firefighter, but now I have ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). This is challenging, but I’m not going to give up. I always bring smiles. Additionally, I have a large family—we are eight siblings—and they support me unconditionally.
Moreover, I am very in touch with ADELA-CV, an association that works to improve the quality of life for ALS patients and raise awareness about this degenerative disease that affects over 3,000 adults in Spain. Lastly, in the photo, I am with my grandfather. Neither of us can move, yet we have managed to be together.

Learn more about me
I am Antonio, known as Ñoño, I am 15 years old and have beautiful eyes that have a lot to tell.
Years ago, I started training my gaze with symbols and games. Later, I expanded my vocabulary and skills, achieving great milestones. All of this is thanks to having great communication allies such as my mom Esther, my dad Antonio, my sister Lucía, my grandparents, my uncles, my cousins… and of course, my friends!
Additionally, I have had the support of great professionals who have accompanied me day by day at my special education school. The truth is, I am very happy to share my story with you. Thanks to my great effort, I have managed to communicate with my gaze through IRISBOND’s eye tracker, and now, every day I have an opportunity to express myself and understand my surroundings.

A teacher once asked me: Just today, try to participate less, so that your classmates are encouraged to talk.
Learn more about me
I am a young enthusiast, cheerful, and cooperative. I love meeting people and being with my loved ones. Once, a teacher asked me: “Just for today, try to participate less so that your classmates are encouraged to speak.”
I am Mexican, 22 years old, and have cerebral palsy. Since I was very young, I have been going to APAC, the Association for People with Cerebral Palsy in Mexico City. Thanks to APAC, I found my AAC device. It’s a complete solution with Duo, EasyClick, and Grid3 from IRISBOND. Nowadays, I do everything with my gaze, including my high school assignments. I love making FaceTime calls, and social media is a lot of fun for me.
But above all, I love lasagna, mole, and rock music. Here you can see me in music class. My dream is to perform on stage someday. Watch the video!
EYE am Andrea
I am a very hard worker, from a very young age I had to be a super warrior and that requires a lot of work.
Learn more about me
I am super cheerful, I love living and enjoying life. I am very hardworking; I’ve been a super warrior since I was very little, and that takes a lot of work. As of today, I am 5 years old. I’ve had about 3 “challenging” years, but I’m now in my best stage, where I am making small advances and enjoying them a lot.
I had tried other devices before, and they hadn’t worked well for me, but now I am happy with my Hiru. My mom Cristina loves meeting other families and sharing stories—families with a different view of the world. You can follow my adventures on my mom’s Instagram or you can also watch this cool video I made with IRISBOND a couple of years ago.

I make jokes, socialize with friends, watch makeup videos on Youtube, study and go to school. I truly enjoy life and I am happy and free.
Throughout my life, one thing that hasn’t changed is that I rely on my eyes and IRISBOND for everything I do. And now, with Hiru and iPadOS, I enjoy the best eye gaze experience.
EYE am Gema
I don’t want to walk with my legs or speak with my mouth. I want technology to support me and let me be free.
Learn more about me
I am a teenager from Toledo, Spain, and I want to be straight with you. I was the first eye gaze AAC user in Spain, and I couldn’t be prouder. Ever since I was little, I knew I was trapped in my own body, but I also knew that I had so much to offer the world. Thanks to my amazing teacher and friend Sol Solís, I found IRISBOND, and it has been a game-changer for me. My eyes have become a window to the world, and I couldn’t be happier. I am non-stop, I am free and I want everyone to know it.
Because I rely on my eyes and IRISBOND for everything I do, I am now the Co-Founder of my own Foundation at just 15 years old. Lately, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive several awards for my work. That’s why I believe I am the best!
