The Inclusive EyeGaze Learning Curve – From Cause and Effect to Communication and Learning

  • This collection takes users on the learning curve from assessment and cause and effect understanding through to using eye gaze for communication, learning, and leisure.
  • Inclusive EyeGaze can be used by teachers and therapists as an assessment tool to determine visual skills and potential use of eye gaze and as a progressive teaching tool that provides structure and lots of opportunities for practice at each level.
  • All users on their first steps with eye gaze can use these activities to improve their accuracy and understanding of eye gaze in preparation for using other communication and learning software.
  • By using relevant vocabulary, pictures and sounds, and lots of variety, the activities will also offer many opportunities for users with additional needs to develop early interaction, communication, and learning skills.
  • Most importantly, we hope that our carefully chosen activities will ensure success and motivation at each stage with games that learners will love and want to play again and again.

The 54 activities are divided into 3 blocks. We will work on three phases in each of them:

Block 1: Attention and visual stimulation
Attention and Looking provides a progression of skills from experiential and cause and effect to targeting. It also includes customizable activities to cater to specific interests and motivations.
Ensuring early success and effective teaching whilst gathering data for teachers’ analysis of student’s performance, preferences and progression.

Block 2: Exploring and playing
The Exploring and Playing package is designed to prepare eye gaze users for further communication and learning activities by developing choice-making and access skills.
Add your own pictures and sounds to extend the 18 activities to your specific communication and curriculum needs.

Block 3: Choosing and learning
18 fun-packed games and exploring opportunities to play on your own and with friends. Assess and improve your targeting and access skills and progress from cause and effect to early choice making.
Learn to take turns or do just what you want. You can even make your own music machine!
